Kawerau is perfectly situated to explore local lakes, beaches and native bush; all with the Tarawera River right on the doorstep, a whitewater haven. 

Additionally, Kawerau is the gateway to the Tarawera Falls and Lake, with the Lodge idylically nestled at the foot of Putauaki (Mt. Edgecumbe) - the most striking natural landmark throughout the sunny Eastern Bay of Plenty.
